Evergreen tree; branchlets subglabrous.
Leaves oblong to oblong-lanceolate, (5.9-)9.7–15.4(–19.4) cm, (2.0-)3.4–5.2(–7.2) cm broad, apex acute or acuminate, base cuneate, glabrous or subpubescent on both surfaces; petioles (0.4-)0.6–2.1 cm long, glabrous or nearly so; stipules triangular, 2–5 mm long, glabrous or nearly so, persistent. Inflorescence with short-pedicelled.
Flowers yellowish-white, 2–3 mm long, calyx campanulate, glabrous to subpubescent, 4–5-lobed, lobes short triangular, less than 0.5 mm long; corolla tubular, glabrous, 4 mm long, 4–5-lobed, reflexed, the throat hairy; stamens 4–5, on mouth of corolla, anthers linear-oblong; styles exserted.
Capsules globose, glabrous or nearly so, 1–3 mm in diam., dark brown. Seeds many, minute, winged.

台灣 : found at low elevations forests throughout this island.
世界 : Southern China to the Ryukyus.
